To uphold the core principles of ecological conservation, public participation, and information transparency, the Irrigation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture organized the Irrigation Ecological Check Education and Consultation Meeting for its regional management offices. The Southern Taiwan session was held on November 21, 2025 at the Kaohsiung Management Office, with participation from the Chianan Management Office, Pingtung Management Office, and Kaohsiung Management Office.

The meeting began with a briefing by the Taiwan Water Resources and Agricultural Research Institute on “Case Studies on Ecological Conservation Outcomes of the Irrigation Agency.” The presentation covered the Irrigation Agency’s ecological check mechanism as well as required tasks and key considerations for project authorities and ecology teams. This was followed by group discussions in which the participating management offices, together with their project and ecology teams, conducted practical exercises based on predefined irrigation engineering ecological check scenarios. Through this education and consultation meeting, the Irrigation Agency aims to address practical challenges in the implementation of ecological check and to further establish high-quality ecological check indicators and standard operating procedures.
