The upstream section of the Old Caogong Canal’s main line is located in Fengshan District, Kaohsiung City, providing irrigation for agricultural areas in Fengshan and Xiaogang. In the past, the canal suffered from disrepair, overgrowth on the right bank, and difficulty in construction due to its proximity to neighboring houses, affecting its water conveyance function. Recent upgrades have improved the canal’s functionality, with the addition of eco-friendly measures and the creation of a water-friendly green belt, enhancing both the canal's capacity and the connection between people and the waterfront.
