The North Main Canal of Erren Alian Irrigation District draws water from the Erren River. Water is pumped from the Erren River at the Houliao Pumping Station in Alian to irrigate farmland in the four irrigation groups of Houliao, Qingqi, Shian, and Zhonglu within the Erren Alian farmland readjustment area. The irrigated area amounts to approximately 800 hectares.
